If you are looking for the best when it comes to paternoster accommodation, you are in the right place. This quaint town is a favourite of holidaymakers, both local and international, thanks to its pearly white beaches and peaceful seaside atmosphere.

Why Visit Paternoster?

Paternoster is one of the oldest fishing villages on the West Coast of South Africa. It is situated 15 km north-west of Vredenburg and 145 km north of Cape Town, at Cape Columbine between Saldanha Bay and St Helena Bay. It is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life for a duo or family getaway.

While the west coast activities are seasonal, you can enjoy walks on the beaches, horse riding, kayaking in the bay, kite or wind surfing, beach-buggy tours, sea views, or simply relax in the number of well-known restaurants or even the Panty Bar while enjoying a local beer or superb wine with your sea food.

How To Choose your Paternoster Accommodation

There are two main things you will be looking at when choosing a place in Paternoster.

Location

Paternoster is a quite a small town so everything is within 2km of everything else. There are two main areas of the town. The eastern area is what you can consider the town centre and is where you will find more traffic and the main beach strip. The western side is more placid side and for those who prefer to get away from it all.

Another factor you might want to consider is access to the beach and views from the guest house. We have included pictures of views for those guest houses that have exceptional views and direct access to the beach.

Budget

Despite its size, Paternoster has enough variety in the standard of the accommodation found and there is something for everyone. For those looking for luxury accommodation, there are good options to be found. If you are travelling in a larger group then you can get more value for money in some of the self-catering lodgings that offer much more space.

We have separated this list into the ones we consider best overall, and also set aside more affordable lodgings and self-catering apartments. Most of the accommodation does not accommodate for children younger than 12 years of age.
