Bay Lodge on the Beach

Location

The first thing you notice about Bay Lodge on the Beach is the incredible proximity to the coastline, offering up some remarkable views. Walking out of the dining area, you’re only a dune staircase away from the beach. As far as location, this comes close to heaven on earth. It’s in a private and secluded residential area and so away from the energetic hustle and bustle of the hotel strip on Diaz Beach and Central Mossel Bay. The perfect place to go if you’re looking for rest and recuperation.

Facilities

Bay lodge on the beach, offers onsite facilities, all that you need for a relaxing stay. Starting indoors, Bay Lodge has an indoor Braai / BBQ area, next to the dining room. There is free Wi-Fi available in public areas. Outside facilities include free onsite parking, an outdoor pool with a bar, a Jacuzzi and a firepit with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets.

Rooms

There are nine quaint rooms, an ocean view, and a street view. They all are equipped with air conditioning, flat-screen satellite TV, a private bathroom, a bar fridge, a microwave, a toaster, and a tea and coffee station. The décor is neutral and easy on the eyes with love little pops of colour that perfectly compliment the view. The rooms give off wonderful relaxation vibes. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day.

 Tourism

This being so close to Bay view beach, there is not much close by in terms of tourism. However, it is a 5 to 25-minute drive to some of the activities known to Mossel Bay tourists.  In the immediate area, you can enjoy, fishing swimming and romantic walks on the beach. A little further out in the Bay View area, you can expect to enjoy, shark cage diving, and surfing.

 Food

A lovely continental breakfast spread is offered every morning, on-site in the dining room. You can expect some excellent quality food. For lunch and dinner, there are various restaurants in the area, about three minutes from Bay Lodge.

 Overall

While Bay Lodge on the Beach is a fantastic oceanfront accommodation with incredible views and the peace and serenity, we all seek, it is a little way away from some great activities, the parking is not covered, and the rooms can be quite quaint. This little heaven on earth is great for couples and individuals who just want to bond or get away from a busy lifestyle. Would not recommend it for families with younger kids as there is not much in terms of entertainment for children.
