Watamu National Marine Park
It is situated about 90 miles North of Mombasa. It was established in 1968 and it is one of Kenya’s first marine parks. It is managed and operated by the Kenya Wildlife Service. Mida Creek
Mida Creek is one of Watamu’s true hidden treasures. It stretches inland from the sea into Arabuko Sokoke Forest. It is a Broadwater tidal creek encircled by immense mangroves and encrusted with palms. The 32km2 creek has extensive, healthy beds of seagrass and coral. There are also many species of fish and feeding sea turtles. In the mangroves, small streams and inlets offer a haven for crabs and birdlife.
Mida is also a lodge for many wondering birds and an important guarded area for their survival. All these features make Mida Creek a very famous and essential natural beauty of the Kenyan coast.
If you want to explore Mida, using a boat is the best mode of cruising through the creek at sunset for a sundowner drink, as the setting sun changes the waters to gold and flocks of roosting birds fill the sky. You can also watch flamingoes feeding in Mida. The creek is also a wonderful kayaking harbor as well as unfinished small channels and passages along the mangrove to see where kingfishers trail in the shallow waters and fish eagles perch in the overhead trees.

East African Reptile Park
East African Reptile Park is a snake bite research and education center specializing in saving lives and limbs. It is situated less than 5 minutes’ drive from the hotels in Watamu-Kenya. It is home to the biggest species of Snakes in East Africa and is open to members of the public.
In this park, there are around 127 various collections of snakes in Kenya. Of the 127 only 18 have caused harm to humans and only six are very poisonous and could kill a human being. 10 of the species could cause a lot of pain to humans and the remainder of 93 or so are non-venomous nor dangerous.
